HEALTH CARE

Magneto Physio Therapy Clinic was founded in 1994 by Fr.M.J.Peter SJ while serving as Assistant Parish Priest at Chilimpur. Using magnets, electro therapy, ultra sound massage, tractions, wax bath, infra red, physical exercises, etc., Fr.Peter treated various bodily ailments like paralysis, spondilites, arthritis, muscles and nerve disorders, etc. He began using as well homeopathy and ayurvedic oil. Success with his treatments brought an increase in the number of people seeking his curative help. Since Chilimpur is out of the way, and with the encouragement Fr.Peter received from the Salesians, Fr.Provincial James Aril SJ granted permission to shift the clinic to a more accessible place. Fifteen bighas of land were acquired on the Rampurhat Road at Kalidanga. On 6th September 2001 the new building at Kalidanga , constructed under the direction and supervision of Fr.C.M.John SJ , was blessed by Rt.Rev.Julius Marandi DD of Dumka and inaugurated by the new Jesuit Provincial Fr.Varghese Puthussery SJ in the presence of more than 450 friends and well-wishers. All the equipment had been brought from Chilimpur ahead of the blessing and inauguration. A 15 member staff is serving in this healing ministry along with Fr. Dr. M.J.Peter SJ and the Adminstrator, Fr.C.M.John SJ.

At the time of writing at end of 2012, more than 10,000 patients visited 'Inigobari' Alternative Health Care Clinic. An average of 90 patients visits the clinic every day. The effect of the treatment is immediately noticeable, steady and durable. People keep flowing in from several States in the North of the country and occasionally from South India and foreign countries as well. Students of physio therapy from the universities of Calcutta, Australia and Malta visited the Centre to acquaint themselves with its treatment system.

The quarters for the nurses were blessed in April 2003 by Fr.Joe Gauci Sacco SJ while the extension to the Physio Therapy Wing was blessed by Bishop Julius Marandi in January 2004.
